A low pressure system has pushed out of our area and is now located over the east coast and Canada - causing lake effect snow showers. High pressure moves in for Thursday, bringing some quieter weather.

Lake effect snow showers have caused some slick road conditions this morning and it's advised to take it slower throughout the day.

The lake effect will cause some accumulations in the typical locations, but not as high as amounts overnight (which were 1-5" or so). Most will add on 1-3", but some in the northern lower may see closer to 2-4", in snowfall today. The snow will start to wind down this afternoon, and some will even see some sunshine. Lake effect will greatly diminish by dinnertime and although we may see a few flurries into the later evening, will come to an end tonight.

Wind is out of the northwest right now on the backside of the low pressure system to the east. It'll be breezy Wednesday, with steady winds at 10-25mph and gusts near the mid 30s. This will cause blowing and drifting snow, adding to low visibilities and covered roads due to snow falling.

Winds will stay up into the evening, but as high pressure moves in things will become much more calm; winds will shift to become southwest and light Thursday. And grab your sunglasses as you head out the door! More sunshine throughout the day as highs reach into the upper 20s (E. U.P.) to upper 30s (Central Lower).

Our next system makes it's way in Friday - with the main snow to begin Friday afternoon and continue into the overnight. We'll continue to keep you updated on this system, and another we're watching for Monday/Tuesday.
