With temperatures back below freezing and snow at times, roads will become snow covered and slippery through Wednesday

NORTHERN MICHIGAN -- With our final days of winter coming up, the weather will feel a little more like it with occasional snow and colder temperatures through Wednesday.
Low pressure crossed the area Monday allowing colder temperatures to spill in Monday night behind it. That froze up some of the recent water on the roadways setting up slick roads Tuesday morning. Snow will break out Tuesday afternoon/evening in particular through the overnight hours as deeper moisture arrives along with an upper level weather disturbance which will in tandem to enhance snow coverage across Northern Michigan.
While the snow for a time will be widespread, it will not be overly heavy with total amounts in the 1-4" range through Wednesday morning, although isolated 5-6" totals are possible. Regardless, roads will become snow covered in spots and slippery later Tuesday into Wednesday.
By midday Wednesday, the snow will taper off as drier air punches across the Western Great Lakes leading to a few late day peeks of sun and the end of snow.
Looking longer term, a northwest flow aloft will lead to occasional weak but compact light snow producing systems with one crossing Thursday night and another late Friday into Saturday morning.
