NORTHERN MICHIGAN -- The big weather story Monday will without doubt be the strong winds that crank up once again. High pressure over the Ohio River Valley in tandem with low pressure approaching Ontario will lead to a pretty decent difference in air pressure, allowing winds to really ramp up.

Wind direction will be from the south or southwest with the peak of the wind passing through in the 1-3 p.m. timeframe Monday. All our our counties bordering Lake Michigan also including Luce County are under a Wind Advisory including Newberry, St. Ignace, Petoskey, Charlevoix, Frankfort, Manistee, and Ludington through Monday evening. Sustained winds will be in the 20-30 mph range, but gusts will push 40-50 mph, highest right along the beaches and immediate shoreline of Lake Michigan. This could cause some roads to see blowing snow today. Winds will gradually subside Monday night.

Temperatures will shoot above normal with most spots between 35-40F.
