Winds at the Big Sable Lighthouse gusted to 72 mph officially. According to the National Weather Service in Grand Rapids, numerous trees were toppled in a west-east orientation from the lighthouse to the park entrance.

There are reports of damage to camper trailers, vehicles, and possibly a park building.

According to 7&4 Storm Team Meteorologist Joe Charlevoix, additional thunderstorms are possible in this area throughout the day Thursday as a cold front passes by.
