You can help get ready for the summer season by cleaning up the beaches!

The Alliance for the Great Lakes is launching the Adopt-a-Beach season.  The event brings volunteers to beaches and shorelines throughout the region. The groups clean up trash, record findings on a regional database and conduct water quality sampling.

The Alliance also hosts a number of web-based and in-person trainings for new and returning adopters to sharpen their data collection skills.

The effort continues through Memorial Day in Michigan and five other states. To find events in your community click here.  You can also get information on in-person and web-based training.
