A 23-year-old Mecosta County man is facing felony assault charges after attacking his parents with a metal pipe Sunday morning.

MECOSTA COUNTY -- A 23-year-old man is facing felony assault charges after attacking his parents with a metal pipe Sunday morning.

Mecosta County Sheriff's Office tells 7&4 News that it happened just before 9:00am Sunday morning at a house in Austin Township.

A 23-year-old man attacked his parents with a pipe and when authorities got to the scene to confront the man, he came at them with a knife.

Deputies had to use a taser and were able to disarm the suspect. He was arrested and taken to the Mecosta County Jail where he's facing charges of felony domestic assault against his parents, felony assault on police officers, and resisting arrest.

The suspect's name has not yet been released.
