HART -- A June trial has been scheduled for the former city council member who is charged in the bathtub drowning of his wife.

Thirty-four-year-old Timothy Shannon of Hart faces an open count of murder in the Dec. 29 death of his wife of 6 years, Lee-Ann Shannon.

Autopsy results released Thursday confirmed she drowned, according to the prosecutor's office.

Timothy Shannon, a then-Hart City Council member told police his wife accidentally drowned and he tried to revive her.

The trial is scheduled for June 19 in the Oceana County Circuit Court in White Cloud.

The couple has two children.
