BIG RAPIDS -- Police in Big Rapids are looking for a 56-year-old man who disappeared Tuesday.
Fred Byrne was last seen leaving his mother's house in Holland Township around 3:00 pm after dropping his son off at Hope College.
Byrne's mother said Byrne mentioned that he was going to stop at Rivertown Crossings Mall in Grandville on his way back to Big Rapids to pick-up a Valentine's gift for his wife.
Byrne was driving a silver 2005 Chevy Malibu, which has since been found near Van Buren, Missouri. (For the more recent story,click here.)
Police say Byrne has had no contact with family or friends, which is extremely out of character for him.
