For the first time in several days, there were no school closings or delays anywhere across Northern Michigan as a quiet day is on tap Wednesday in the weather department under mostly cloudy skies.

The next snow producing system will sweep across Northern Michigan Thursday setting up a quick 1-3" of snowfall Valentine's Day. While not a lot of snow is forecasted, it will be just enough to make the roads a bit sloppy with highs Thursday in the mid/upper-30's.

Colder air will quickly race back into Northern Michigan for the weekend with high temperatures plunging back into the low/mid-teens Saturday with a few lake effect snow showers.

We are also watching the early part of next week. The primary storm track will shift across the Great Lakes region and there are signals that some accumulating snow may be a possibility early next week. We'll keep a watchful eye on that.
