CLARE CO. -- A 26-year-old Harrison man was arrested for child torture after the 17-month-old boy he was allegedly torturing was brought into the Emergency Room.

On Wednesday morning, Clare County Sheriff deputies responded to the Clare Emergency Room on reports of a 17-month old boy who had been assaulted. He had injuries all over his body, deputies say.

An investigation led to the arrest of Andrew Sanderson, who was in a relationship with the boy's mother. Deputies say that at the time of the arrest, Sanderson was out on bond from a previous domestic assault charge involving the boy's mother.

He is now charged with Child Torture, Child Abuse 1st degree and Domestic Assault.

The boy was taken by ambulance to a hospital in Saginaw for further treatment. As of Thursday afternoon, he was still hospitalized.

Sanderson was arraigned today and his bond was set at $250,000.
