Former St. Francis standout Max Bullough has been named to the Capital One Academic All-America Second Team, as selected by CoSIDA.

Michigan State's Football program tweeted the news this morning.

Bullough, the Junior linebacker who leads the team in tackles with 95, was honored along side punter Mike Sadler, of Grand Rapids.

Nominees for the award must be a starter or important reserve with at least a 3.30 cumulative grand point average. Those nominated must have participated in at least 50-percent of the teams game at their position.

Bullough maintains a 3.73 GPA in Finance.

The Bullough family has a long legacy at Michigan State. His father, Shane was a team captain in 1986, and Max's younger brother Riley joined the team this past season.

St. Francis' current standout Byron Bullough committed to the Spartans for the 2014 season.

Max is also a Butkus Award Semifinalist, which is presented to the nation's top college linebacker.
