EVART -- A local teacher is being accused of sexually assaulting a 16-year-old boy.
32-year-old Janet Brown from Evart was charged today with three counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct in the third degree.
Brown is a teacher with the Mecosta-Osceola Intermediate School District.
State Police tell 7&4 News she was assigned to the Ashmun School at the Eagle Village Youth Detention Center's campus in Hersey, where the victim is a student.
The Mecosta Osceola ISD handles the education at the private facility that rehabilitates troubled youth.
The district Superintendent says the misconduct is said to have taken place after school hours on school property.
Right now, Brown is on administrative leave as the investigation continues.
The superintendent says she used to work at the Cadillac Public Schools.
