TRAVERSE CITY -- The search is on for a man police say robbed a gas station in Traverse City.

It happened just after 10:30pm Wednesday at the Admiral Gas Station at 732 East Front Street.

Employees say the man walked into the business and pushed one employee into a back room and closed the door.  He then confronted a cashier and demanded money.  The employee gave the suspect the cash from the register and he ran away heading east.

He was wearing a brown or beige and black plaid hoodie pulled up over his head. He had a gray scarf covering his face, blue jeans and gloves. He had a blue backpack with him.

The employees were not hurt. The amount of money taken is still being determined.

Anyone with information on this crime is asked to contact the Traverse City Police Department Detective Bureau at 231-995-5152 or the Silent Observer Tip Line at 231-947-TIPS (8477).
