FRANKFORT -- Wednesday night storms rolled through N. Michigan - and caused some damage in the Frankfort area.

Greg Nye called 7&4 news when he noticed trees down around his community, in about a half mile line from Lake Michigan towards the southeast.

Jennifer Rommell's parents' house was hit hard. After living there for thirty-three years,  trees over one hundred years old fell onto their home and they don't know if they will be able to repair it. (They are staying in a hotel for the time being) Their car was under so many branches only the tailights were visible Thursday morning-and the car has now been deemed as totaled.

After hearing of multiple trees down all in the same direction, and looking over storm reports from that night, the National Weather Service has decided to not do a damage survey at this time, and thinks the cause of the damage is due to localized straight-line winds.

Rommell said the community has been very helpful and that they consider themselves lucky that no one was hurt.
