Storms knock out power in Traverse City

Heavy rain combined with thunder and lightning knocked out power in parts of Traverse City Monday night.

7&4 was knocked off the air for about 30 minutes during the storm.

As of early Tuesday morning, Consumer's Energy reported about 655 customers were without power in Grand Traverse County.  561 lost power in Cheboygan County. 475 are out in Missaukee County and 298 in Clare County.

Cherryland Cooperative is also reporting scattered outages.  Power is expected to be restored soon.

7&4 News heard several reports of trees down and homes struck by lightning throughout the storm.
