Consumers Energy spent Tuesday scrambling to restore power to last pockets of customers.

BENZIE CO. -- Utility crews have been out in full force trying to repair the rest of those outages, but they're still facing some tough obstacles.

Consumer's Energy says 340 crews from all over the state and midwest are working to restore power.

Deep, heavy snow is making it difficult for utility trucks to get to some downed lines, so workers are ditching their vehicles to fix the problems.

Consumers Energy Manager Bob Gluszewski says, "We actually have crews that are going out to areas on snowmobiles and using snoeshoes because they can't get trucks through snow."
