Ice Movement on Lake Michigan

NORTHWESTERN LAKE MICHIGAN -- There was concern with the strong west-northwest winds we received Wednesday morning that large blocks/chunks of ice could crash ashore perhaps damaging homes and/or other structures along the Lake Michigan shoreline from Manistee north to Mackinac County. In fact, Wednesday morning I mentioned that possibility on our morning news. Fortunately, we have not had any reports of damage. The National Weather Service Forecast Office in Green Bay did capture massive ice floes getting pushed from the Bay of Green Bay out into the open waters of Lake Michigan Wednesday. Very impressive pictures to say the least.  You can see them by clicking on "Winds Pushing Lake Ice" below under related links.
