Sborz recalled from Triple-A to replace Porcello

DETROIT --       DETROIT (AP) - The Detroit Tigers plan to recall pitcher Jay
Sborz from Triple-A Toledo to replace Rick Porcello.
      The team said in a statement that Sborz will be in uniform
Tuesday night when the Tigers play the New York Mets.
      The righthanded Sborz has compiled a 1-1 record, 3.04 ERA, 15
saves and 28 strikeouts in 24 appearances with the Mud Hens.
      Porcello was optioned to Toledo before Sunday's game against
Arizona. After going 14-9 as a 20-year-old rookie last year, the
struggling right-hander was 4-7 with a 6.14 ERA this season.
