LANSING, MI (AP) --
LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Michigan hunters are ready to put turkey
on the table.
The state's fall wild-turkey hunt begins Monday morning, a
half-hour before sunrise, and runs through Nov. 14.
Licensed hunters are allowed to take one turkey each during the
season using a bow-and-arrow, a muzzleloading shotgun or a firearm
that fires a fixed shotgun shell.
Hunting hours are from a half-hour before sunrise to a half-hour
after sunset each day during the season.
The state Department of Natural Resources warns that turkey
poaching is a misdemeanor punishable by up to 90 days in jail and
fines of up to $1,000, as well as reimbursement to the state of
$1,000 for each turkey illegally taken.
