DETROIT (AP) --
DETROIT (AP) - The Motor City Bowl is now the Little Caesars
Pizza Bowl.
Organizers of the annual college football bowl game announced
Wednesday that the Detroit-based pizza chain has become the event's
title sponsor.
The name change comes after General Motors Co. and Chrysler LLC
end their sponsorship of the game. Both automakers reorganized
under bankruptcy protection earlier this year.
Ford Motor Co. remains a sponsor of the game.
The bowl has been played since 1997 and has previously matched a
team from the Mid-American Conference and a team from the Big Ten.
It has a contract with ESPN through the 2014 season.
This year's game will be played Dec. 26 at Ford Field in
Detroit.
Former University of Michigan coach Lloyd Carr also was named
president of the bowl.
