ANN ARBOR, Mich. - University of Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon says the Wolverines are developing a plan to spend $250 million on their non-revenue sports facilities over the next seven to 10 years.

AnnArbor.com (http://bit.ly/MmeHIy ) reports that Brandon made the statement during the Big Ten meetings in Chicago.

The spending would be on top of the about $500 million that Michigan has put into its football, basketball and hockey facilities in recent years.

Brandon says the university's master plan calls for updating almost all its sports facilities. He says the school wants to be able to host regional or national competition in all its sports.

He says a facility that particularly needs improvement in the Canham Natatorium and says women's water polo facilities are inadequate.
