Kirk Cousins capped his college career by leading Michigan State
EAST LANSING, MI -- to a triple-overtime win over Georgia in the Outback Bowl.
Now the Spartans must move on without him.
No. 12 Michigan State beat No. 18 Georgia 33-30 on Monday,
rallying from a 16-0 halftime deficit. The Spartans (11-3) shook
off the sting of both their loss to Wisconsin in the Big Ten title
game and last season's 49-7 embarrassment against Alabama in the
Capital One Bowl.
It was Michigan State's first bowl victory since 2001 and first
in five bowls under coach Mark Dantonio.
The Spartans went 22-5 over the last two seasons, but now they
lose both Cousins and standout receiver B.J. Cunningham, who were
both fifth-year seniors.
