Only three times since the BCS began has the Big Ten been
limited to one participant in the group of glamour bowls.
The league's stranglehold on getting a second bid is looking a
bit tenuous.
Big Ten teams can't even be considered for an at-large spot
unless they are in the top 14 of the BCS rankings. Michigan State -
at No. 14 - is the only team fitting that criterion at the moment.
Michigan, which is at No. 15, could move up with a win over Ohio
State this weekend.
One thing is certain: Michigan State will play either Penn State
or Wisconsin in the inaugural Big Ten title game two weekends from
now. The winner receives an automatic berth in the BCS.
