ALLEN PARK, Mich.  - Detroit receiver Calvin Johnson insists
he is OK.
Johnson stood off to the side during drills Thursday, but gave
every indication he will be ready to play Friday night in the
Lions' preseason opener against Cincinnati. Johnson says he's fine
and is looking forward to a live game after the long offseason.
Johnson caught 77 passes for 1,120 yards and 12 touchdowns last
season - and that was with three different quarterbacks.
Coach Jim Schwartz hasn't gone into any detail about how much
his top players will play against the Bengals. He says this first
game is really about letting his players get used to playing
together, and that he won't spend much time worrying about a
specific coaching scheme.
