DETROIT - Suttons Bay guard and future Michigan State
Spartan Dwaun Anderson is Michigan's Mr. Basketball for 2011.
Anderson was announced the winner Monday in Detroit.
He says he was "completely shocked" at winning the award.
Suttons Bay lost early in this year's high school basketball
tournament.
He is the third consecutive Mr. Basketball to have committed to
play college hoops in East Lansing with head coach Tom Izzo.
Anderson follows Derrick Nix (2009) and Keith Appling (2010). This
year's fifth-place vote-getter Brandan Kearney also is headed to
Michigan State.
The only other time at least three straight Mr. Basketballs
signed with the same university was 1999-2002 when Jason
Richardson, Marcus Taylor, Kelvin Torbert and Paul Davis attended
Michigan State.
Michigan State has signed 12 of the 31 Mr. Basketball winners.
