Michigan is headed back to the NCAA tournament for the second time in four seasons under John Beilein.

The eighth-seeded Wolverines will face ninth-seeded Tennessee in the West regional on Friday in Charlotte, N.C. Michigan (20-13) started 1-6 in Big Ten play but has won nine of its last 13 games.

The Wolverines haven't played Tennessee (19-14) since 1985. The Michigan-Tennessee winner will likely meet top-seeded Duke in the second round.

Michigan players watched the selection show at Crisler Arena with enough fans to fill nearly four sections in the lower bowl. Although there were plenty of nerves, the comfortable seed suggests the Wolverines weren't really a close call.
