ALLEN PARK, MI (AP) --
ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) - The Detroit Lions have selected Iowa
cornerback Amari Spievey with their first pick on the second day of
the NFL draft.
Detroit drafted Spievey on Friday night early the third round,
66th overall.
He will get a chance to play immediately on a team that lacks
cornerbacks.
The Lions took Nebraska defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh
(en-DAHM'-eh-ken SOO') with the second pick in the draft Thursday
night and traded up to get California running back Jahvid Best 30th
overall.
They didn't have a second-round pick after giving it up as part
of a trade with the Minnesota Vikings to move up to land Best.
