EAST LANSING, MI (AP) --
EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Michigan State coach Tom Izzo says he
doesn't know if injured point guard Kalin Lucas will be ready to
play Tuesday against Purdue in a key Big Ten game.
No. 10 Michigan State (19-5, 9-2) has a one-game lead in the
conference over Wisconsin, Ohio State and Illinois. No. 6 Purdue
(19-3, 7-3) is close behind.
Izzo said Monday there's a chance Lucas will play against the
visiting Boilermakers. But Izzo isn't sure how effective Lucas
would be because a sprained ankle continues to bother the
speed-oriented guard.
The Spartans have lost back-to-back games at Wisconsin and
Illinois after starting the Big Ten season with nine straight wins.
Lucas was injured against Wisconsin and missed the Illinois
game. He leads the team in scoring at nearly 16 points per game.
