KITZBUEHEL, Austria (AP) — Didier Cuche of Switzerland posted the fastest time and Bode Miller was 10th in the first downhill training before the Hahnenkamm races.

Cuche sped down the Streif course in 1 minute, 55.22 seconds Wednesday to finish 0.17 seconds ahead of Austria's Mario Scheiber and Michael Walchhofer.

Defending champion Didier Defago of Switzerland was 1.17 behind in ninth, while Miller trailed Cuche by 1.31 seconds.

Another downhill training session is scheduled for Thursday before the race on Saturday. The traditional Hahnenkamm event also involves a super-G on Friday and slalom on Sunday.
