ALLEN PARK, MI (AP) --
ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) - Lions coach Jim Schwartz has not ruled
out Matthew Stafford from returning Sunday against San Francisco
after missing two games with a shoulder injury.
Schwartz said Monday that he hopes to decide on a starting
quarterback by Wednesday.
If Stafford can't play against the 49ers, Schwartz will decide
between Daunte Culpepper and Drew Stanton. Culpepper was pulled at
halftime of a 31-24 loss to Arizona last weekend, and Stanton led a
second-half rally.
Stafford hurt the shoulder Nov. 22 against Cleveland, and gained
some fame when he put himself back in the game after getting hurt
and threw his fifth touchdown pass on an untimed play.
He aggravated the injury in the fourth quarter against
Cincinnati on Dec. 5.
