EAST LANSING, MI (AP) --
EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) - Michigan State coach Mark Dantonio
explained the seven stages of grief at Tuesday's weekly press
conference.
After a gut-wrenching home loss to unbeaten Iowa last week, he
just wants his team to reach stage seven, which is acceptance and
hope.
The Spartans play at Minnesota on Saturday. Both teams are 4-4,
but the Spartans' 3-2 Big Ten mark puts them one game up on the
Golden Gophers.
Michigan State's four losses have been by a total of 15 points.
Dantonio's introspection after the 15-13 loss to the Hawkeyes
included an analysis of blitz strategy and clock management. He
concluded that his team handled Iowa's game-winning drive correctly
- a major step on the road to recovery.
