University of Michigan athletic director Bill Martin will retire effective Sept. 4, 2010.
ANN ARBOR (AP) -- University of Michigan athletic director Bill Martin will retire effective Sept. 4, 2010.
The university says Martin announced his retirement on Wednesday with a letter to school President Mary Sue Coleman and then at a meeting with athletics staff.
Martin has headed the Wolverines athletic program since 2000, taking over for Tom Goss.
