BERLIN (AP) — The athletics world championships have restarted after being interrupted for 45 minutes by a downpour.
The rain waterlogged the track Friday and qualifying in the men's javelin and women's long jump were interrupted. The men's high jump final and the sprint relay heats were also delayed.
After a sweltering day on Thursday, the weather turned worse on Friday with cool winds blowing in and bringing rain, thunder and lightening with it.
