GRAND BLANC, MI (AP) --
GRAND BLANC TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) - Tiger Woods says one of the
worst putting days of his career led to a lackluster 1-under 71 at
the Buick Open.
Woods, competing Thursday for the first time since missing the
cut at the British Open, finished the first round tied for 128th on
putts inside 10 feet in the tournament.
Steve Lowery took advantage of perfect conditions in the morning
and shot a 9-under 63 to take the clubhouse lead.
Woods has never missed two straight cuts as a pro, but it's too
early to count him out for the weekend at Warwick Hills, where the
cut is usually 3 or 4 under. He opened the 2005 Buick Open with a
71, bounced back with a course-record tying 61 and finished tied
for second.
