New summer football team wins at home
The Traverse City Wolves played here in the north for the first time ever.
The Wolves made their debut on the road last week with a win in Ypsilanti. It was a crushing 33-7 victory for TC. For the first home game, the Wolves host the Wolverines of Chicago.
Traverse City scored on their first offensive series, and again in the first half. A last minute field goal attempt at the end of the first half was botched on a bad snap, and Tony Gourlay tried to pass. Unfortunately the Wolverines picked it off in the endzone and ran it back 103 yards for a score.
But the Wolves would not let Chicago score again. They go on to win 30-6, improving to 2-0. TC looks to stay perfect next weekend as Tri-City comes to town.
