ST. LOUIS (AP) --
ST. LOUIS (AP) - The American League has won its seventh
straight All-Star game, beating the National League 4-3 behind a
terrific catch by Carl Crawford and a trio of bullpen aces.
The AL ran its unbeaten streak to 13 games, including a tie.
Tuesday night's victory means the AL champion will again have
home-field advantage in the World Series.
Curtis Granderson tripled and scored the go-ahead run in the
eighth inning on Adam Jones' sacrifice fly. Moments earlier,
Crawford reached over the left-field wall to rob Brad Hawpe of a
home run.
After President Barack Obama threw out the first ball, closers
Jonathan Papelbon, Joe Nathan and Mariano Rivera each pitched a
scoreless inning to finish the game at Busch Stadium. Rivera earned
his record fourth All-Star save.
