SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Antonio McDyess is leaving the Detroit

Pistons for the San Antonio Spurs.
The sought-after free agent reached a deal with the Spurs and is
expected to sign later this week, team spokesman Cliff Puchalski
said Wednesday. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the Spurs
had their full midlevel exception, worth about $5.85 million this
season, to offer McDyess.
The 34-year-old forward averaged 9.6 points and 9.8 rebounds in
his 14th NBA season last year.
It is the second big offseason pickup for the Spurs, who
acquired swingman Richard Jefferson from Milwaukee last month in a
four-player deal.
