DETROIT (AP) --       DETROIT (AP) - A $3.8 million federal earmark intended to help
save Tiger Stadium may end up being spent even if nothing is left
of the stadium.
U.S. Sen. Carl Levin said Tuesday his earmark was designated for
"preservation and redevelopment of a public park and related
business activities" in Detroit's Corktown neighborhood.
The Michigan Democrat says even if the building is gone, the
money still would be available for a new redevelopment plan by the
Old Tiger Stadium Conservancy involving the ballfield.
Board member Gary Gillette says the group hasn't decided its
plans.
