ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — The person in charge of construction of the $1.15 billion Cowboys Stadium was arrested on a DWI charge hours after the venue's inaugural event.

A statement from Arlington police says 53-year-old Jack Hill was arrested for suspicion of driving while intoxicated early Sunday during a two-vehicle wreck.

Hill was freed on $1,000 bond after being taken to Arlington City Jail.

Dallas Cowboys spokesman Rich Dalrymple told The Associated Press that the organization "is aware of the situation." Dalrymple says Hill is construction operations manager for the stadium.

The new home to the NFL team opened Saturday night with a concert headlined by country star George Strait and featuring Oklahoma native Reba McEntire.

A jailer said she had no information on an attorney for Hill.
