ALLEN PARK, Mich. (AP) - A published report says the Lions have
signed former Michigan State safety Otis Wiley as an undrafted
rookie free agent.
Booth Newspapers says the 6-foot-2, 210-pound Flint native will
participate in Detroit's rookie and free agent minicamp this
weekend in Allen Park.
Booth says Wiley was projected as a mid-round pick, but he
suffered a knee injury in the seventh game of last season and
wasn't drafted.
Three other former Spartans also have signed free-agent
contracts -- quarterback Brian Hoyer with New England, defensive
end Brandon Long with San Francisco and defensive tackle Justin
Kershaw with Carolina.
