ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Michigan State athletic director Mark Hollis says he regrets sending a message on his Twitter account to Michigan point guard Trey Burke.

Hollis told The Associated Press on Thursday he should've directed his advice toward all student-athletes wrestling with whether to stay in school or go pro.

Burke tweeted Wednesday that everyone has something to say about his decision on whether to return for his sophomore season or to enter the NBA draft.

Hollis then tweeted to Burke: "My advice, believe in YOUR heart & mind, everything else is interference. People u seek out is better than those that seek u."

Michigan athletic director Dave Brandon later wrote on his Twitter account that Hollis' intentions were good, but he made a mistake with an inappropriate tweet.
