(AP) -- Safety Amari Spievey has agreed to a one-year deal to stay with the Detroit Lions.

Agent Andy Simms said Tuesday that Spievey is set to remain with the only NFL team he's played for. The 5-foot-11, 195-pound safety started two games last season, but he was placed on injured reserve in mid-November because of a concussion.

The 24-year-old Spievey has played three seasons with the Lions after they drafted him in the third round in 2010. He has started 26 games, including 15 in 2011, when he had three interceptions and the Lions reached the playoffs.

Detroit is now coming off a 4-12 season, and the secondary is a spot the Lions may try to improve via free agency.
