ACME TOWNSHIP -- At 4:40 a.m. this morning 3 Grand Traverse Metro Fire Departments along with Elk Rapids Fire were dispatched to an early morning fire in Acme Township at 7339 US 31 North. The farmhouse was located just south of the Music House in Acme.
Upon arrival firefighters found occupants outside of the old farmhouse and made "a Quick Stop " to a fire in the kitchen area that could have been a tragic loss due to the age of the farmhouse.
" Firefighters gained entry immediately and stopped the fire from getting into the walls which could have become a very bad fire !! "
All occupants of the residence escaped without any injuries and there were no injuries to firefighters.
