ANTRIM CO. -- Antrim County Sheriff's Deputies arrested the man they believe is at the center of methamphetamine manufacturing in Antrim, Charlevoix and Kalkaska counties.

A ten-month long investigation ended with a simple traffic stop on US-131 in Custard Township, just outside of Mancelona.

When deputies stopped 36-year-old Dennis Short, they say they found meth and marijuana in the car.

The Antrim County Sheriff tells 7&4 News that he believes Short was running Meth manufacturing operations in three counties. He also said he believes that Short's drug activities extended downstate.

The Sheriff's Department is working with the Michigan State Police Traverse Narcotics Team to find the details of the operation.

Short is facing one felony county of controlled substance for meth but more charges are expected.
