ALPENA COUNTY -- Two people were trapped inside of a car last night after an accident in Alpena County.

Police say it happened at around 11:15pm at the intersection of Ripley Street and Campbell Street.

The driver of a vehicle traveling on Campbell Street failed to yield to an on-coming car and smashed into it, causing it to slide into a light-pole.

The occupants were then trapped inside of the car.

The Alpena Fire Department was called in and crews were able to get the people out of the back-hatch of the car.

There were no injures in the accident. The 'at-fault' driver was cited for failing to yield to an oncoming vehicle.
