LANSING -- Former Michigan Gov. Jennifer Granholm, who burst into the headlines with a very enthusiastic speech at the Democratic National Convention, is back in the headlines.

CNN and Politico are reporting that the former Gov. is being considered for a cabinet post in the Obama Administration.

Some vacancies in the cabinet are filled by Sen. Chuck Hagel and John Brennan, who were nominated for the secretary of defense and Head of the CIA, respectively. But more vacancies may be on the horizon.

Politico reports that Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner, Energy Secretary Steven Chu, Interior Secretary Ken Salazar and Environmental Protection Agency administrator Lisa Jackson are expected to make their departure soon.

Granholm is a part of what Politico is reporting as a "growing list of people the administration is looking to find spots for." The report points to Granholm as a fit for Attorney General should Eric Holder leave his seat. He has not made his plans clear yet. Before becoming governor, Granholm served as Michigan Attorney General.

Granholm announced last week on Facebook that she would be leaving her Current TV show, as the network was sold to Qatar-based Al Jazeera. Her show launched in January of last year.

This isn't the first time there has been speculation about Granholm getting a cabinet seat. She's been mentioned for the energy secretary position twice; once in 2008 when Obama was collecting her first term cabinet, and again in 2008 when Chu was rumored to be resigning.

Since her time as Governor, Granholm has been teaching at the University of California-Berkley, served as an advisor for the Pew Charitable Trusts and worked on television.
