ANN ARBOR -- Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson has pleaded guilty to driving with a suspended license but remains eligible to play in the Outback Bowl against South Carolina.
Wolverines spokesman David Ablauf said Tuesday that Robinson paid a fine and faces no additional punishment from the university.
Robinson was cited for driving with a suspended license on Chandler Road in Bath Township, just north of East Lansing, around 1:33 am on Nov. 4.
Earlier that day, Robinson had missed the first game of his college career at Minnesota.
Lt. Lyle Lindemulder of the Bath Township Police said Robinson was stopped after he failed to signal. He also had expired registration tags on his license plate.
Robinson originally pleaded not guilty to the charge in late November, but missed a Dec. 14 court date, while lead to a bench warrant. The warrant was cancelled when Robison showed up and pleaded guilty on Monday.
Robinson is one of the all-time NCAA leaders in career rushing yards by a quarterback. After sustaining an arm injury this season, the senior from Deerfield Beach, Fla., also lined up at running back and receiver.
He is still expected to play quarterback, running back and wide receiver in the Outback Bowl on January 1 against South Carolina.
