ALPENA -- A Detective Lieutenant assigned to the Michigan State Police Huron Undercover Narcotics team was arraigned in district court Wednesday on the charge of willful neglect of duty by a public officer.
Delmer Putnam, Jr. has been suspended since the investigation began back in February 2012. It was later discovered that he was using work funds, intended to purchase illegal drugs, for personal use.
As part of his plea agreement, Putnam has resigned from the Michigan State Police.
