Man who shot neighbor in back arrested at hospital

A 61-year-old man was arrested and charged with Attempted Murder after shooting his neighbor in the back on Saturday.

Sheriff David Israel says the suspect, Jack Lambath kicked the door open at his neighbor's house on Country Road in Kalkaska County, and shot Claudia Roberts with a high powered rifle.

Roberts was air lifted to Munson Hospital where she is being treated for the gun shot wound. She is listed in stable condition after surgery.

Lambath was hospitalized after being arrested and removed from his home because of a possible drug overdose.

He was charged with Attempted Murder and Felony Firearm on Monday. He pled not guilty.
