TRAVERSE CITY -- A 21-year-old Traverse City man was arrested after causing a crash at the intersection of Union and Front streets.

Police say an investigation revealed that the man was driving very fast westbound East Front Street. Witnesses estimated a speed between 60 and 70 miles per hour.

A Cherry Capital Taxi Cab was proceeding through the intersection on Union and Front streets when it was hit.

The 29-year-old taxi driver and 2 passengers, both 22-year-old women, were taken to Munson Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the at-fault vehicle was not injured in the accident, however he was arrested for three counts of Operating While Intoxicated causing injury (a 5 year felony), High Blood Alcohol Content, and for operating without insurance. His preliminary breath test revealed a .193 BAC.

The man is currently in jail awaiting arraignment.
